The Future’s So Bright

Posted on: August 23, 2007

A burst of color. For me, that’s always been my motto. I learned more than several years back which colors compliment my complexion as a darker skin woman. In addition to white, tropical colors work well. However, in seasons past, color was reserved strictly for Spring and Summer. Designers typically pushed the gray, the black, and the chocolate palette for Fall and Winter. If color was included, it usually ran to deep plums and eggplant. That’s all changed. As winter approaches and days get shorter and nights become cooler, step out of the box with coats that have color. It will add some fun to the long winter nights ahead.

la fashionista has had an interest in fashion and style since childhood when she first saw her mother dress in the various fashion of the 80s. Her mother was also a great seamstress, which was a definite influence on la fashionista's foray into fashion. Sadly, her mother's sewing talent did not get passed on to la fashionista.

But that doesn't mean that she doesn't still love talking about fashion. Because she does!
